Girl hidden flowers4/6/2023 ![]() ![]() Hopefully we can get a store soon! And the last challenge -but also amazing news- is that Mafe got her job back and is doing marketing once again! Even though it’s from the comfort of our home, her time is very limited and Adri has had to own the show lately. You might see us at your doorstep, delivering ourselves, or even our dad! The mess we make every day while cleaning the petals is also another piece of art! So, cleaning our living room (where we do the arrangements at the moment) after doing the bouquet is also a mission. Flowers are delicate, so removing all the funky looking petals takes quite some time! This is probably the step that takes the longest, as well as deliveries, which have also been a mission. We get fresh flowers really early every morning (this job is not your dream job if you are not an early riser) and we also hand clean each and every single flower we use in our arrangements. We didn’t know the amount of time it takes to build a bouquet. I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road? They found our creations unique! The friends of our friends started following us and reaching out to ask how they could buy them, so… we opened our webpage and, well… you probably figured it out, sales started to come in and haven’t stopped since then. And our close friends started following us and reposting us. We also created our Instagram to start documenting our creations during quarantine. We started playing with flowers, mix and matching them and gifting them to our friends. Not all girls like the typical red roses! And we could definitely give it our personal twist and make rustic hand-tied bouquets. After having both of our birthdays during quarantine, and receiving flowers ourselves, we realized there was an opportunity in Miami to do something different. You are probably wondering “why flowers?”. But…the opportunity was here! What did we have to lose? At least we would be busy and have something to do, instead of mopping around about the job we used to have. We have both always wanted to have a family business, but never had the time or internal drive to make it happen. How motivating right? Well… after a couple of days of lots of discouragement (we are not pessimists we are just being honest here!) we sat down one day and started seriously brainstorming on what to do next. As a recent graduate, Adri was facing the biggest challenge, finding her first job during a pandemic, while millions were getting laid off/furloughed, like her sister. Both of us were struggling with this pandemic. How exciting right? Until… yeah, you figured it out, getting put on furlough due to covid. ![]() Adri recently finished school for Phycology and Mafe has been working the typical 9-5 corporate job for quite some years in the marketing world. And our backgrounds are rather different to what you would expect. We moved to the United States 5 years ago. We are two sisters (Adri & Mafe) and we are from Venezuela. Let’s take you back to the beginning of it all. ![]() Hi Maria and Adriana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself ![]()
